for a special Beer Dinner on Tuesday, September 14, 1999

 




After careful research, BBC's Executive Chef Leo Villatoro created a wonderful menu for our evening with Stone Brewing Company.

From the appetizers to the dessert, each course was perfectly suited to the accompanying beer.

And when you combine Leo's culinary skills with the fantastic beers of Stone Brewing Company, you know you're in for a treat!





Reception
Stone Pale Ale

Robust ale with a rich malt sweetness balanced by a distinctive hop character.

Stone Pale Ale won a gold medal in the 1998 World Beer Championships.




Appetizer Course
Baked Green Lipped Mussels with Lemon Butter and Garnish.

Served with Stone India Pale Ale (IPA).

Light to medium malt character with a heavy dose of hops, abundant hop aroma and crisp hop finish.

 




First Course
Tomato Basil & Watercress Salad with Grilled Asparagus & Feta Cheese.

Served with Stone Wheat Beer.

A moderately hopped American style wheat.

 




Main Course
New Zealand Rack of Lamb with Smoked Porter Demi Glaze & Shitake Mushrooms.

Served with Stone Smoked Porter.

Rich full bodied robust ale with a subtle smoky character from peat-smoked malt.		  




  Dessert
Mango Crepes with Arrogant Bastard Ale Chantilly Cream Sauce.

Served with Arrogant Bastard Ale.

A strong ale with an "aggressively arrogant flavor."






Our special guest speaker for the evening was Stone Brewing Company President Greg Koch, pictured above with BBC's David Hansen and chef Leo Villatoro.
  





Stone Brewing Company's Arlen Arnsten closely guarded everyone's most wanted item: a limited edition magnum of Arrogant Bastard Ale.




As you can see, a wonderful time was had by all.
